About the role

Are you passionate about helping people achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated Coach – Youth Services to join our team on a permanent full time (37.5 hours per week) basis, based in Paeroa and also providing cover in Paeroa, Waihi, Whangamata and some of the rural surroundings. 

You will specialising in offering intensive case management and a wrap-around service for eligible rangatahi. Your primary goal will be to guide and support rangatahi entering education, training, or employment-based learning. Your expertise and commitment will play a crucial role in empowering young individuals, fostering their growth and facilitating their journey towards a successful future.

As a Coach - Youth Services, you will:

  • Facilitate the enrolment process into Youth Service including their agreement to participate in the service. 
  • Complete a needs assessment and produce a plan around training and employment goals.
  • Support rangatahi to access and engage with appropriate services and development opportunities to help them overcome barriers to their participation in education, training, work-based learning, or employment.

Provide ongoing intensive case management and support for rangatahi.

About you

We are looking for a compassionate, culturally competent, and motivated individual who has a genuine passion for supporting rangatahi to achieve their goals and aspirations.

You will also bring with you:

  • A bachelor’s degree in social work, Education, Psychology, or similar.
  • Certificate in Youth Work Level 4.
  • 4+ years’ experience in social services, education or similar.
  • 4+ years’ experience working with Māori or Pasifika.
  • 4+ years' experience providing extensive case management/mentoring rangatahi.
  • A full NZ Driver’s License.

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
