Te Wānanga o Aotearoa is one of New Zealand's largest tertiary education providers offering a comprehensive range of certificate to degree level qualifications to New Zealanders of all ages and walks of life.  We require a reliable and enthusiastic person to join our Early Learning Centre as an Administrator for 20 hours per week.

About the role:

The primary function of the Kaiwhakarite (Administrator) is to provide quality administrative support and technical assistance by:

·  Maintaining the ECE databases

·  Providing reception duties

·  Distributing resources through the appropriate booking system

  • Initiate requisition processes
  • Support the maintenance of site resources
  • Undertake day-to-day site operations and activities
  • Provide support for site events
  • Facilitate internal and external communications as required

At times incumbents may be required to work across all administrative areas and may be required to assist on the floor where tamariki and kaiako ratios are insufficient to meet ELC requirements.

What you need:

You will have a Certificate in Business Administration or Computing (Level 3), at least two years’ experience in an administration role; excellent skills in Word and Excel and experience working with data bases.  An understanding of/or experience in the early childhood education sector is an advantage and Te Reo Māori skills are also desirable.

This position is classed as a Core Worker under the Vulnerable Children’s Act and will need to pass a safety check under the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014.

A full NZ Driver’s License (Class 1) is preferred and a moderate level of fitness is required.
