We currently have a vacancy for a Kaiako to deliver the Te Kunenga o te Ao Tikangaprogramme, specializing in the art of Karanga. The Kaiako is responsible for delivering programme content professionally and effectively as well as taking an active role in the recruitment and retention of students (tauira).

The ideal candidate will have the following;


  • Diploma Level 5 qualification in Mātauranga Māori
  • At least level 5 qualification in te Reo Māori
  • Level 5 Diploma Adult Teaching Qualification
  • National Certificate in Literacy and Numeracy (level 5)
  • Full clean drivers license


  • Fluency in te Reo Māori
  • 3 years or equivalent in Adult teaching and/or Education
  • High level of immersion in te Ao Māori me ōna Tikanga

Āhuatanga Māori:

  • Have proficient knowledge related to Te Ao Māori and is a leader regarding Āhuatanga Māori
  • Have a high degree of fluency, have an excellent spoken and written Māori Language ability, and can provide guidance and leadership in this area.
