Te Wananga o Aotearoa is one of New Zealand's largest tertiary education providers offering a comprehensive range of certificate to degree level qualifications to New Zealanders of all ages and walks of life. 

We invite applications for a Kaiwhakahaere Ako (Manager Educational Delivery) to manage, develop and monitor the education delivery within the Social Work programme in the Te Kei Takiwa based in Porirua.  

Duties for this role include the planning and implementation of programme delivery. Providing leadership, academic management and support to academic kaimahi (staff). Being responsible to oversee the teaching and learning activities of the Social Work programmes delivered. Ensuring all Social Work programmes delivered meet the curriculum guidelines and compliance is monitored following Te Wānanga o Aotearoa policies and standards. 

Applicants are required to have a Master’s Degree as well as hold a current Social Work registration.  Demonstrated experience in staff management and relevant research experience with published and peer reviewed outputs. A clean, full New Zealand driver’s licence is required. The successful applicant may be required to travel within Te Kei.

 This position is classed, as a Core Worker under the Vulnerable Children’s Act and the applicant will need to pass a safety check, inclusive of Police Vetting, under the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014. The ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Police Vet throughout employment with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa is required. 

Skills required for this role include excellent written and oral communication, excellent relationship management, excellent planning and project/task managements skills along with proven ability to anticipate leadership requirements and provide timely information to support decision-making.  

The ability to understand and converse in Te Reo Maori and an understanding of Maori values, culture and Tikanga would be an advantage.
