Te Wānanga o Aotearoa is a uniquely and passionately Māori learning institution that delivers education and training throughout Aotearoa. Guiding and leading our kaupapa is our Council, Te
Mana Whakahaere. As a member of the
Council, you’ll have a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic
direction of an organisation deeply rooted in kaupapa Māori and committed to
educational excellence and equity.
With a bold new phase of innovation and growth ahead
of us, we’re looking for someone with proven expertise in organisational
transformation and information technology, a shared commitment to our
kaupapa and values, and a strategic thinker who’s a visionary leadership and
long-term planner.
Your skills and attributes will also include:
- Proven success leading organisations who are culturally rich and diverse.
- Expertise in implementing IT systems and business processes that drive operational excellence.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of identifying and realising new business opportunities.
- Familiarity with the tertiary education sector and/or the broader public sector environment.
- The ability to constructively challenge, ask insightful questions, and engage in robust governance discussions.
- Sound independent judgement and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- A willingness and
capacity to commit the time and energy required for effective
governance.
