We are seeking a passionate and experienced Advisor – Tauira Support to join us on a permanent full-time (37.5 hours per week) basis based in Auckland, Queen Street.

As the Advisor – Tauira Support, your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive support to our tauira across various domains, including, academic, attendance, and career guidance. Your role will be instrumental in removing barriers that impede learning and fostering a supportive environment for a successful learning journey.  

Some of the key responsibilities will be:

  • Provide professional support and guidance to tauira, addressing their academic, attendance, and career related concerns.
  • Create and maintain a supportive learning environment tailored to the tauira individual needs.
  • Align support services with the guiding principles and strategic goals of TWoA.
  • Conduct regular visits to other campuses, to ensure consistent support across locations.
  • Work closely with other tauira support functions, to provide holistic support to tauira.

About you

You will bring with you:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology or other related field.
  • Full New Zealand driver’s license.
  • Proven experience in education or social services.
  • Experience with tauira support, preferably in the tertiary sector.
  • Proven experience working with a diverse range of stakeholder groups.

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
