Role Type: Part-time
Location: Raroera, Hamilton
Hours: 20 hours per week
Days: Monday – Friday
Tenure: Permanent, Part time

As Assistant – Puna Reo, you will:

  • Provide responsive reception, administration and database support to enable the effective day-to-day operation of Puna Reo.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential tamariki records, enrolment information and attendance data.
  • Support communication with tauira, whānau, kaiako and stakeholders in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Manage documentation and filing requirements to meet Ministry of Education audit and compliance standards.
  • Assist with sourcing resources, maintaining site systems and supporting operational requirements.
  • Provide ratio support with tamariki when required to ensure compliance with ELC requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive, safe and culturally enriching environment that supports strategic objectives and successful outcomes for tamariki and whānau.

 

Mōu | About you

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A Certificate in Business Administration or Computing (Level 3).
  • A Full NZ Driver Licence (Class 1).
  • Proven administration, data entry and records management experience.
  • Experience maintaining databases with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and experience supporting diverse communities.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable. Demonstrated commitment to learning and using te reo Māori and supporting Māori values in the workplace will be highly regarded.
