Te Wānanga o Aotearoa is one of New Zealand's largest tertiary education providers offering a comprehensive range of certificate to degree level qualifications to New Zealanders of all ages and walks of life.

We invite applications for the role of Business Analyst to join our IT team based in Hamilton.  The primary function of the Business Analyst is to analyse business processes, systems and procedures across Te Wānanga o Aotearoa and recommend technology and/or business process changes to improve projects and Hangarau delivery processes, business efficiency and productivity.  This position will collaborate across all stages of the CDBIRO to align activities with other business analysts, process owners, system owners and subject matters in each department.

You will have the ability and capability in process design, reengineering and documentation methodologies with an understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.  You will excel with your relationship management and written and communication skills.

To be successful in this role you require:

  • Bachelor degree in related subject (IT preferred) and/or proven experience in a related role

  • Chartered IT Professional NZ Certification and/or Membership

  • 5+ years’ industry experience in a comparable role

  • Business analysis experience in IT projects, ideally involving data analysis, business case and proposal development, and report specifications

  • Project Management proficiency

A sound understanding of te reo Māori phrases, mihi and greetings and of Māori values, culture and tikanga is expected.
