Mō tēnei mahi | About this job

We are looking for a Content & Instructional Designer to join our Quality Programme Lifecycle Development team. In this role, you will design and develop research-informed, engaging learning experiences that form the foundation for delivery across online, blended and print environments.

Working closely with Programme Developers, Graphic and Digital Designers, and Subject Matter Experts, you will ensure that learning resources are pedagogically sound, culturally responsive and aligned to programme outcomes, regulatory requirements and continuous improvement processes.

Key responsibilities include:

* Designing, developing and curating high-quality educational content aligned to learning outcomes

* Applying adult learning principles and inclusive design practices to support diverse tauira

* Collaborating with internal stakeholders and creative teams to translate briefs into effective learning solutions

* Supporting programme approval, review and quality assurance processes

* Contributing to ongoing improvement of programme-related policies, processes and templates

* Using learner feedback and insights to enhance the quality and effectiveness of learning experiences* Ensuring all work reflects Te Kaupapa Matua and organisational standards

 

Mōu | About you

You are a thoughtful and innovative learning designer who is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for adult tauira. You enjoy working collaboratively and take pride in delivering high-quality work.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design or a related field (postgraduate study is an advantage)

* At least 4 years’ experience in learning and instructional design, ideally within a tertiary or adult education context

* Experience designing engaging online and blended learning using a range of digital tools and platforms

* A sound understanding of adult learning principles and inclusive design

* Strong written communication and editing skills with attention to quality and detail

* The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

* Experience working collaboratively with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams

* A genuine interest in kaupapa Māori education and a willingness to grow your understanding of Te Kaupapa Matua and Mātauranga Māori

* Comfort working within structured quality and approval processes

* A full NZ Driver Licence
