Due to an internal promotion, this rare strategic leadership opportunity has become available. 

As Director – Organisational Culture & Capability, you’ll lead the development and delivery of enterprise-wide people and culture strategies that strengthen capability, embed te reo me ngā tikanga Māori, and enhance the overall employee experience. You’ll play a critical role in advancing organisational priorities by aligning culture, leadership, engagement, learning, performance, and wellbeing into a cohesive, future-focused approach.

You’ll be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, driving innovative culture and capability strategies that position the organisation as an employer of choice, leading a kaupapa Māori-centred kaimahi experience across key moments that matter, and shaping kaimahi development, learning, and cultural capability frameworks.

Moū | About you

You’re a seasoned people and culture leader with the ability to operate confidently at executive level while remaining deeply connected to kaupapa Māori values and ways of working.  You’re known for your authentic, values-led leadership style, ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholders, strength in developing others and lifting kaimahi capability, and courage to challenge thinking and lead transformational change.

To this role, you’ll bring:

  • Significant senior leadership experience across organisational development, culture, or people functions.
  • Proven success designing and delivering enterprise-wide culture, capability and engagement strategies.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to influence and shape organisational direction.
  • A deep understanding of āhuatanga Māori, with the ability to embed tikanga and mātauranga Māori into organisational practice.
  • Fluency in te reo Māori (written and spoken), with confidence leading bilingual and cultural initiatives.
