About the role:

As the Puna Manager,you will take a strengths base approach to leadership and have the ability to build positive and warm professional relationships.  You will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the Early Childhood Puna.  Mentoring your team, building close relationships with whānau, leading programme planning and internal evaluation, enrolments and budget management will all be part of your day.

You will need:

  • Diploma or Degree in Teaching Early Childhood Education
  • Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand Practising Certificate - full status
  • Three to five years’ management in early childhood education
  • Experience teaching in a range of early childhood education environments
  • The ability to manage and lead a diverse team
  • Excellent planning and facilitation skills
  • A sound understanding of āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) with the ability to greet and acknowledge people in te reo Māori and pronounce Māori words correctly
