Kaiako - Certificate in Small Business
Certificate in Small Business – Part-Time Fixed Term Contract (Minimum 25 weeks)
Are you passionate about small business development and eager to support entrepreneurs across Aotearoa? Have you started and run your own business, and want to share your knowledge with future business owners?
Te Wananga o Aotearoa is committed to tauira success and whānau transformation through education and is proud to offer a range of programmes to support new and existing business owners. We are currently seeking two motivated tutors to deliver one of these programmes, the Level 4 Certificate in Small Business, in an e-learning/online format.
Alongside delivering core programme curriculum, you will assist tauira (students) to develop a detailed business plan which will include profit and cashflow forecasts. Tauira will learn key business skills in the areas of marketing, operations, and financial management that will contribute to the growth and development of a business or enterprise.
The ideal applicants will have relevant tertiary and adult teaching qualifications as well as practical business experience. Confidence in online teaching is essential. Strong networks that can support tauira in their business journey will also be valuable.
While an understanding of te reo Māori and tikanga is beneficial, more important is a genuine openness to learning and engaging with these, and the ability to relate respectfully to all cultures within the class. A strong commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi is also essential, and we encourage applicants to actively deepen their understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how it applies in the context of delivering a programme for Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
Whilst these positions are for an online delivery format, we are interested in finding someone who has the potential to deliver either or both online and face-to-face classes in future, particularly in Auckland and/or Whangārei. Thus, it is advantageous, but not essential, that the applicant be based in Auckland or Whangārei.
If this position is for you, in your cover letter tell us why you are the right person to help our students put their learning into action. Applicants must be available for an interview the week of 13 October 2025.
