Qualifications:

  • PHD in any subject
  • Masters Degree in any subject; willing to enrol in PHD study

Ko Te Tangata Ka Hiahiatia:

  • Matatau ki te kōrero, pānui me te tuhi i roto i Te Reo Māori.
  • He ngākau māhaki ki te ārahi me te poipoi i ngā pakeke kua tohunga kē i ā rātou mahi i waho kē atu i te pūnaha mātauranga Pākehā.
  • He tangata whiri i te muka tangata i tōna anō ao ngaio, ao rangahau, ao Māori hoki hei painga, hei oranga mō āna tauira.
  • He hiahia nōna ki te whakapakari i a ia anō ki ngā akoranga hou o te ao mātauranga, o te ao hangarau matihiko hoki.
  • Kua whakaako ki tētehi Wānanga, Whare Wānanga, ki te Kura Tuarua rānei.
  • Kei te tāone nui o Kirikiriroa e noho ana, kei te rohe o Waikato rānei.
  • E āhei ana ki te moe mai ki Mangakōtukutuku mō ngā Noho Wānanga.

Person Description:

  • Fluent in speaking, reading and writing Te Reo Māori.
  • A receptive person who knows how to mentor and encourage adults learners who are already experts in their practice, but may not have achieved academically.
  • A person who weaves together relationships across their profession, their research, and te Ao Maōri, for the benefit and well-being of their learners.
  • They have a strong desire to further upskill themselves in the new education and technology spaces.
  • Teaching experience, preferably at Tertiary Level or Secondary School Level.
  • Preferably living within the Hamilton City boundary or the wider Waikato.
  • Available to stay onsite at Mangakōtukutuku for Noho Wānanga.

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
