We are seeking a Kaiako to deliver our Manaaki
Tangata: Certificate in Bicultural Social Services Level 4 programme, which
involves but is not limited to: developing lesson plans, presenting material to
tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira
progress.
You
will be responsible for recruiting and inducting tauira, implementing effective
teaching and assessment strategies, monitoring academic progress, and
maintaining accurate records in accordance with TWoA and NZQA requirements.
Creating a collaborative, inclusive and culturally grounded learning
environment will be essential to the success of this role.
This is a Permanent, Full-time (37.5 of hours per week) position, based out of the Māngere & Wāitakere campus. Some flexibility will be required to work some weekends and evenings (for noho and night classes only)
Mōu | About you
You
will have extensive experience within the Social Services field to deliver our
Social Services programme in a bicultural framework. You will have expert
knowledge in bicultural knowledge of engaging in relationships and kaupapa,
bicultural knowledge of purposes, obligation and legacies of social services,
and know the relevance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to social services in Aotearoa
New Zealand.
Ideally, applicants will have:
- Bachelor degree relevant to social services or equivalent
- Full and current registration with the NZ Social Work Registration Board
- NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT) or equivalent, or be willing to complete during the first year of employment.
- Full NZ Driver License (Class 1)
- Clean Police Record
Please
note: This
position is classed as a Core Worker under the Vulnerable Children’s Act and
will need to pass a safety check, inclusive of Police Vetting, under the
Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014.
As
a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural
activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and
tikanga) will be key.
