Mō tēnei mahi | About this job

We are seeking a Kaiako  to deliver our Manaank Tangata: Certificate of Social Services in Bicultural Social Services Level 4 programme, which involves but is not limited to: developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira progress. Some flexibility may be required to work some weekends and evenings.

 

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5hrs per week) position, based on campus in Hokowhitu: Papaioea.

 

Mōu | About you

The Kaiako will have extensive experience within the Social Services field to deliver our Social Services programme in a bicultural framework. You will provide expert knowledge in bi-cultural knowledge of engaging in relationships and kaupapa, bi-cultural knowledge of purposes, obligation and legacies of social services, and the relevance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to social services in Aotearoa New Zealand.

 Ideally, applicants will have:

 Bachelor degree relevant to social services or equivalent

  • NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT) or equivalent, or be willing to complete during the first year of employment.
  • Full NZ Driver License
  • Clean Police Record;

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
