About the role:
We are seeking a Kaiako to deliver the Manahautū: Combined Shared Services programme, which involves but is not limited to: developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira progress. Some flexibility may be required to work some weekends and evenings

 

About you:
Ideally you will have held a previous role within the NZ Police Force, have adult teaching experience and are able to demonstrate knowledge and appreciation of te reo and tikanga Māori within a bi-cultural framework. You will need to hold:

  • Diploma in a related field
  • New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT L5) or equivalent, or be willing to complete during the first year of employment
  • National Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education Level 5 (NCALNE L5)
  • Full and current NZ Driver Licence; and have a
  • Clean Criminal History Check

Whilst teaching experience is highly valued at TWoA, newly qualified Kaiako with relevant qualifications but with no or limited previous teaching experience will also be considered.

NOTE: This position is classed as a Core Worker under the Vulnerable Children’s Act and will need to pass a safety check, inclusive of Police Vetting, under the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014.
