Kaiako | Rongoā Māori Level 4 (fixed-term)

Our Rongoā Māori programmes help tauira to become kaitiaki of rongoā Māori and connect with the mātauranga of our tūpuna to address the wellness needs of today.

As a Kaiāko in Rongoā Māori, you will be well versed in the customs and protocols that surround rongoā, and be passionate about reviving traditional and contemporary rongoā practices in Aotearoa. Additionally, you will need to hold a relevant Rongoā Māori qualification one level above the programme you're delivering.

We'd love it if you had some tertiary teaching qualifications, but if you're the right fit for the programme and don't have these qualifications yet, we're dedicated to professional development and will support our Kaiako in getting them.

The successful candidate should:

  • Hold a Diploma in Rongoā Māori, Level 5 (or higher)
  • Have experience in Māori healing
  • Have experience in a teaching environment
  • Have an excellent understanding of āhurutanga Māori, tikanga Māori and te reo Māori

Also, we have a range of employment benefits that are unique to our Wānanga and our Kaimahi.
