Location: Mangakōtukutuku Campus, Hamilton
Hours: Full-time, 37.5hrs per week

Tenure: Permanent

As a Kaiako for Te Ara Reo Māori, you will:

  • Bring te reo Māori to life, delivering engaging and culturally grounded learning experiences.
  • Support tauira success, guiding learners from enrolment through to achievement.
  • Create inclusive learning environments that encourage confidence, participation and growth.
  • Adapt your teaching approach to meet diverse learner needs and aspirations.
  • Monitor and celebrate progress, providing meaningful feedback and support along the way.
  • Champion kaupapa Māori values, contributing to the wider success of tauira, whānau and community

 

Mōu | About you

We are looking for someone who has the following:

  • A qualification in te reo Māori and adult teaching (Level 5 or higher)
  • Experience teaching te reo Māori and adult learners.
  • Fluency in spoken and written te reo Māori, together with a strong understanding of tikanga and te ao Māori.
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for empowering learners.
  • A full New Zealand Driver Licence

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
