Kaiako – Te Kunenga o te Reo Maori (Rumaki) Level 4

We currently have a vacancy for a Kaiako to deliver the Te Kunenga o te Reo Maori (Rumaki) Level 4 programme, which is based on Ako Whakatere methodology and techniques. The Kaiako is responsible for delivering programme content professionally and effectively as well as taking an active role in the recruitment and retention of students. 

 

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Diploma qualification or higher in Te Reo Māori or related subject
  • Full Current NZ Driver Licence

It is preferred the ideal candidate will hold: 

  • NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT) or equivalent
  • NZ Certificate in Assessment Practice Level 4 (NZCAP) or attest equivalence for NZQA standards required to assess and moderate this programme.

 

Experience

  • It is preferred the candidate have a minimum 3 years’ experience in teaching total immersion and experience teaching adults.

Āhuatanga Māori

  • Have an excellent understanding of āhuatanga and tikanga Māori and actively participates in cultural events;
  • Have an advanced ability and understanding of Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga with accurate and proficient in both written and oral form.
