Mō tēnei mahi | About this job

We are seeking a Kaiako to deliver our Te Rōnakitanga ki te reo Kairangi Level 5 programme, which involves but is not limited to: developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira progress.

You will be responsible for recruiting and inducting tauira, implementing effective teaching and assessment strategies, monitoring academic progress, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with TWoA and NZQA requirements. Creating a collaborative, inclusive and culturally grounded learning environment will be essential to the success of this role.

This is a Permanent - Full-time position, based out of the Whanganui campus.

Mōu | About you

You will be a confident Kaiako that brings energy and creativity that shines through in your delivery. Te Rōnakitanga ki te reo Kairangi, is a Reo Rūmaki (Total Immersion) programme, so you will need to be proficient in te reo Māori and be able to show evidence of delivering and teaching te reo Māori to adult learners.

Ideally, you will have:

• Diploma (Level 6) or higher in te reo Māori, or demonstrated equivalent experience;
• NZ Certificate in Ault Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent, or be willing to complete during the first year of employment
• Experience teaching full immersion te reo Māori
• Experience teaching adults

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
