Kaiako – Te Hapūtanga o Te Reo Level 5

We have a fantastic role for a passionate and enthusiastic Kaiako to join our busy team in Porirua. This is a full-time permanent position teaching our Te Hapūtanga o te Reo Level 5 – Reo Rumaki programme.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing high quality and effective learning experiences for tauira by developing lesson plans and materials, planning and delivering tutorial sessions, responding to tauira learning needs and evaluating progress throughout their journey. The delivery mode for this programme consists of a combination of directed and self-directed learning, noho marae, one day wānanga and weekly face-to-face classes.
As this is a total immersion programme, applicants must be fluent speakers/writers of Te Reo Māori and have an advanced knowledge of tikanga Māori.
To be successful you will require a minimum of the following:
- Bachelor Degree in Te Reo Māori Level 7 or a related subject
- Certificate in Adult Teaching (L5) or equivalent
- Full New Zealand Drivers Licence (Clean - class 1)
- Proven practical experience or active engagement in Te Ao Māori cultural practices
- Available to work days, evenings and weekends
- Sound administration, communication and organisational skills, essential
