We are currently recruiting for the 2020 academic year and we invite applications from passionate and energetic individuals to assist in the delivery of our Te Ara Reo Māori programme.  


The role of a Kaiāwhina is to assist Kaiako in delivering our He Pī Ka Pao Reo programme in a proactive, supportive whānau based environment. This role also assists the Kaiako in preparing resources and classrooms, monitoring student attendance, general administration task and student recruitment. As part of the whānau we will support you in furthering your career in teaching Reo.


Applicants must be able to converse in Te Reo Māori at Level 4 minimum and have a thorough knowledge of Tikanga Māori at Level 4 minimum. At least one year’s experience in a similar role and a Te Reo or Māori studies qualification are essential. A full driver’s licence is also required.


Minimum requirements:

  • School Leavers Certificate or
  • Minimum Level 4 qualification in Te Reo
  • Full driver’s Licence
