Kaiāwhina - He Pii Ka Rere

We are seeking a Kaiāwhina to support our Kaiako in the delivery of our Te Ara Reo Māori, He Pii Ka Rere programme, manage day-to-day activities in the delivery of the programme, prepare documentation / general administration and resource development, recruitment of tauira, and support tauira learning in class.

This is a Permanent /Part-Time (15 hours per week) position, based out of the Ōtautahi campus. Some flexibility will be required to work some weekends and evenings.

Hours required:

Tues 4.30pm - 9.30pm

Wed 8.45am - 1.45pm

Thurs 4.30pm - 9.30pm

If you have a passion to pathway into teaching te reo Māori, if you want to further develop what you already know and learn from a team of other Kaiako and Kaiāwhina who are also passionate about te reo Māori, then this role is for you!

To be successful candidate will:

Be able to confidently converse in te reo Māori

Be able to evidence their experience using or navigating systems that support tauira learning

Be confident using Microsoft Office Applications

Have proven administration experience

Level 4 Te Reo or Tikanga qualifications are preferred, or a willingness to study towards gaining a qualification

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
