Role: Permanent Part Time
Location: Rotorua
Hours: 7.5 hours every Wednesday and once every four weeks Friday - Sunday for a Noho or One Day Wananga as the programme requires
Salary:
$47,347 - $54,124 (pro rata)


The role of Kaiāwhina (Tutor Assistant) is to provide support to the Kaiako in the delivery – Hei Tikitiki/Hei Toki programme. In this role you will:

  • To provide support to the Kaiako in the delivery of the Hei Tikitiki/Hei Toki programme.
  • To support the Kaiako to manage day-to-day activities in the delivery of the programme.
  • To support Kaiako with regards to preparation of documentation/general administration and resource development.

 

About you:

We are looking for someone who has the following:

  • School Leavers Certificate.
  • It is preferred that the Kaiāwhina are qualified one level above the subject being taught; or should be studying towards the relevant subject.
  • At least one year’s experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full and clean drivers licence

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
