We are seeking a Kaiwhakahaere Ako, Manager – Educational Delivery on a fixed-term, full-time position, starting in January 2025 and ending in October 2025.

As the Manager for Educational Delivery, you will need to bring strong leadership and management to a team of kaiako or be willing to grow and develop in this space. This role provides oversight to kaiako programme delivery and educational experiences for tauira and stakeholders. You will be part of a team that is keen on maintaining and improving tikanga Māori within your whare.

This position oversees programme management and delivery to ensure excellence. Some of the responsibilities include, covering kaiako in class delivery, monitoring teaching staff performance, tauira recruitment process, and maintaining accurate academic processes and procedures.

The ideal candidate is a passionate and capable leader with a commitment to excellence in educational delivery, a strong understanding of tikanga Māori, and the ability to inspire and support a team of kaiako to achieve outstanding outcomes for tauira and stakeholders.

You will bring with you the following:

  • Fluency is te reo and tikanga Māori
  • Bachelor Degree in Education, Management or Commerce
  • Certificate in Adult Tertiary Education (Level 5)
  • Assessment and moderation standards (4098, 11281, 18203) or New Zealand Certificate in Assessment Practice (Level 4)
  • Membership of registration of a professional body if the qualification requires it (e.g., SWRB or Teaching Registration
  • Full New Zealand Drivers’ License
  • Strong personnel skills to work with stakeholders that are essential to the programmes success.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing staff in a tertiary education environment
  • 5+ years delivering quality education
  • 3+ years teaching experience

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
