Mō tēnei mahi | About this job

The Product Owner is responsible for translating the Product Managers’ strategies  into  operational activities,  managing and prioritising  product backlogs, understanding stakeholder needs, and providing clarity to team members as needed. The Product Owner will lead work planning and guide the team in delivering prioritised mahi aligned to a regular cadenceDuties include:

  • Translate product strategy into actionable development tasks
  • Own and prioritise the product backlog to deliver maximum value
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to shape user-centric solutions
  • Lead agile ceremonies and ensure work goals are met
  • Validate completed work and continuously evolve the products based on feedback and opportunities
  • Champion the voice of the user and align product outcomes with organisational goals


This particular Product Owner role will span three product teams, each with unique work patterns and characteristicsNone of the teams are carrying out traditional software development

 

Mōu | About you

Are you a visionary with a knack for turning strategy into action? Do you thrive at the intersection of customer needs, business goals, and agile technology delivery? You should have or be aligned to:

  • 4+ years in product ownership or related roles
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies and product lifecycle management
  • Experience in Business Analysis and process re-engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Certified in Agile frameworks
  • Understanding of technology platforms and security, data and information, and ICT service operations
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • A passion for innovation, empathy for users, and a drive to deliver results
  • Understanding of te ao Māori and commitment to Te Wānanga o Aotearoa values


As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
