We are seeking someone with a strong background in tertiary education, curriculum development, and assessment design. Fluency in Te Reo Māori is advantageous, as is a deep commitment to āhuatanga Māori, along with exceptional communication skills and the ability to inspire and unite teams. If you’re a strategic thinker who thrives on innovation and making a meaningful impact, this is your opportunity.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of assessment quality across a portfolio of programmes, ensuring they are robust, fair, and aligned with sector expectations. You’ll work closely with kaiako, providing training and guidance to strengthen their confidence and clarity in assessment practices. Collaboration is key – you’ll partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to embed Kaupapa Matua principles and drive continuous improvement.

We have two (2) Permanent, Full-time (37.5hours per week) positions available, that can be based out of any one of our sites across Aotearoa.

 

Mōu | About you

You will be a subject matter expert in assessment and moderation practices, and strong facilitation and training skills. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to Te Kaupapa Matua and āhuatanga Māori is key.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or related field
  • Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in a related field is desirable
  • Full NZ Drivers Licence (Class 1)
  • 5 years’ experience in tertiary education, curriculum development, academic quality support or a related sector
  • 2 years’ experience in experience leading or managing academic projects across programme development or delivery (particularly in assessment and assessment design

 

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.

Salary Range: $72,490 - $108,735. Remuneration will reflect qualifications, skills and experience for the position.
