About this role

The primary purpose of the Senior Designer is to design, develop and produce creative content, in alignment with  brand guidelines, for new online learning programmes and print resources.  .  The role will also take a lead in designing innovative creative strategies to diverse audiences and provide training and support to the team as required on these modalities.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provide professional design capability in specific disciplines, including graphic design, animation and motion design.
  • Contribute to the development of brand and design guidelines for multiple programmes
  • Develop, interpret and executive briefs and reverse briefing sessions with creatives and multiple internal clients and be a key point of contact with management and clients.
  • Produce and manage end-to-end content creation
  • Lead in developing, designing or creating new applications, ideas, systems or digital design artistic contributions.
  • Identify new and innovative digital design technologies and contribute to artistic design platforms that are fit for purpose.
  • Design/develop visual concepts, storylines and storyboards, sketches, infographics and narrative as creative and innovative solutions for print/online/interactive projects
  • Support all production planning including budgets, timelines and delivery requirements
  • Assess content and asset requirements within each project
  • Create innovative visual and interactive concepts for digital learning

 

About you

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in media or related field

• Diploma in Te Reo Māori Level 5

• Full NZ Drivers Licence

Experience:

• 6+ years’ experience in brand and design

• 6+ years’ experience in graphic design

• 3 years’ experience in Digital Learning / E-Learning

• Experience and knowledge of iQualify / Akorau

• 3 years’ experience in Ako Wānanga / Ako Whakatere

Āhuatanga Māori:

• Knowledgeable in Te Ao Māori (Māori World) and is seen as a leader for Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga)

• Actively engages in cultural activities and has an excellent understanding of āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga)

• Fluent in spoken and written te reo Māori and can provide guidance and leadership in this area (TARM level 4 or equivalent qualification)

• Prepared to increase knowledge, understanding and everyday use of te reo and āhuatanga Māori and support other kaimahi in the same endeavour

• Actively applies Te Wānanga o Aotearoa values in the workplace
