We're seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Engineer – Platforms and Security to join our Taupārongo (Technology Foundations) team. This role is pivotal in supporting the integrity, performance, and security of our enterprise ICT systems — with a strong emphasis on cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, identity management, and platform integration.

  • Provide leadership in the design, implementation, and support of secure technology platforms.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for cloud, systems, and infrastructure technologies.
  • Lead the monitoring, optimisation and lifecycle management of enterprise systems.
  • Manage and implement robust Identity and Access Management, observability, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Mentor and guide other ICT kaimahi, supporting their development and technical growth.
  • Ensure that our systems align with TWoA’s kaupapa and protect Mātauranga Māori in the digital space.


Mōu | About you

  • 15+ years of experience in ICT engineering or infrastructure roles, with a focus on platforms and security.
  • A post graduate diploma or bachelor’s degree in IT or related field (ITIL and Microsoft Cloud Certifications are advantageous).
  • Proven expertise in cloud platformsnetwork securityvirtualisationautomation,
  • Experience in identity management and governance including expertise with Entra ID and other tools
  • Strong understanding of data privacy lawssecurity principles, and systems integration best practice.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
  • A commitment to learning and supporting Āhuatanga Māori, Te Reo Māori, and tikanga in the workplace.
  • A New Zealand resident legally entitled to work in New Zealand
