As a Senior Financial Accountant, your role is to ensure financial reporting is complete, accurate, and compliant with NZ’s accounting standards. Providing technical accounting expertise to drive quality financial analysis and insights, you'll collaborate with key stakeholders to develop accurate budgets and updates to financial projections. Your advanced technical accounting skills will help resolve complex financial reporting issues, and you'll provide valuable technical accounting support and advice to business leaders.
Additionally, you'll also oversee treasury functions, focusing on cashflow management, and identify opportunities to improve financial systems, polices and processes, and reporting frameworks.

You hold a relevant accounting qualification and have extensive experience in financial accounting, preferably within the public sector. At interview, you’ll be able to demonstrate advanced technical accounting skills and a complete understanding of Aotearoa’s accounting standards, including PBE IPSAS. You’ll bring strengths in analysis and problem solving, be a clear and concise communicator, and, because relationships will be key to your success with us, you’ll have a knack for building credibility and rapport quickly with others.
