Mō tēnei mahi | About this job

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of financial reporting while supporting strong financial control and compliance with Public Benefit Entity (PBE) accounting standards.

You will play a key role in budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with stakeholders to deliver meaningful financial insights that inform decision-making. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing annual financial statements and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Supporting budgeting, reforecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Producing high-quality management and governance reports, including variance analysis
  • Providing expert technical accounting advice across the organisation
  • Managing treasury activities, including cashflow oversight
  • Supporting financial system improvements and change initiatives
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and leadership teams

 

Mōu | About you

You are an experienced and technically strong finance professional with a passion for delivering accurate, insightful financial information. You thrive in a collaborative environment and bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

You will also bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (or related field)
  • Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) or equivalent qualification
  • At least 7+ years’ accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, including PBE/IPSAS standards
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Advanced Excel, financial modelling, and data analysis capabilities
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
