Are you passionate about libraries, leadership, and building meaningful access to knowledge? We’re looking for a committed and organised Senior Librarian – Collection Services to play a key role in shaping the library experience for our tauira and kaimahi. This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position, based at our Raroera Campus in Hamilton.
Based in our central library, you’ll lead the coordination of circulation activities and support a team of Assistant Librarians in the smooth, day-to-day running of core library operations. You’ll also be responsible for:
- Overseeing acquisitions and managing physical collection development across our library network
- Coordinating resources to ensure consistency and best practice
- Working closely with the Senior Librarian – Digital Services to deliver both physical and digital resources that meet the evolving learning and research needs of our communities

The ideal person for this role is a natural organiser and collaborative leader, with a passion for libraries, a strong eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent service to tauira and kaimahi alike.
- Degree in Library and Information Management (Master’s level preferred)
- Registered Member of the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (RLIANZA) – preferred but not essential
- Full New Zealand Class 1 Driver’s License
- 4 + years’ experience in facilitating acquisitions, cataloguing, and managing library resources
- 4+ years’ professional experience in a library environment
- 4+ years’ experience working with electronic databases
- Proven ability to deliver customer-focused solutions to a diverse range of users and stakeholders
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
