Are you a forward-thinking librarian who’s passionate about digital innovation and student success? We’re looking for a Senior Librarian – Digital Systems to champion seamless access to our digital library systems and help shape the tauira (student) experience at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.

In this key role, you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining digital library solutions that support blended learning across our network. You’ll work to ensure our digital services are fit-for-purpose, future-focused, and aligned with best practice – all with the ultimate goal of empowering tauira throughout their learning journey.

This role is about more than managing library systems – it’s about creating meaningful, accessible, and enriching digital experiences for every learner.


Mōu | About you

The ideal person is tech-savvy, library solutions-focused, and passionate about creating accessible, high-quality digital experiences that support diverse learners on their education journey.

  • Tertiary qualification (degree level) in a relevant discipline
  • Professional qualification in Library, Information Management, or Information Science
  • Full New Zealand Driver’s License
  • 4+ years’ experience in a professional library setting (tertiary library experience preferred)
  • 4+ years’ experience managing digital library systems and/or digital resources

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
