About the role:
We are inviting applications for a newly designed role of Subject Matter Expert (SME) Operations – National Tauira Success Services. The primary purpose of the SME Operations – National Tauira Success Services is to facilitate a quality service to our Tauira by providing specialist knowledge and expertise on student support operational functions and systems.

Advise, educate and implement best practice standards to create a fully trained workforce to support tauira success that contributes to the reduction in early withdrawals and maximises retention of tauira
Develop and distribute engaging written communication to promote Tauira Success Services and TWOA’s programmes, projects and events
Support the Manager – National Tauira Success to develop, maintain and implement effective methods of policy development, business/service planning, process re‐engineering and service improvement
So what does it take to succeed in the role?
You will have a bachelor degree in Education, Social Science or similar
5+ years’ experience in the tertiary education sector
5+ years’ experience implementing Tauira Support operational functions and systems
Experience developing and distributing marketing and communications material
Willing to participate in cultural activities and motivated to develop an understanding of āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga)
A full NZ Drivers Licence
You will be a proactive thinker, with a result-oriented brain. Leverage your unique expertise to provide our Tauira with outstanding services.
The ability to look at student success and student support opportunities through a Māori world view and to communicate and build strong relationships across the organisation is essential in this role – bring people on the journey with you.
