Location: Te Awamutu Hours: 37.5 hours per week Days: Monday - Friday

Tenure: Permanent

Salary: Low - $81,497 – Mid $101,871

 

 

As a Specialist – Communication & Engagement, you will:

  • Provide senior-level strategic communications advice and delivery across major initiatives, change and organisational priorities
  • Shape and stewarding organisational narrative, messaging and storytelling in alignment with Te Kaupapa Matua and Te Pae Tawhiti
  • Identify, advise on and mitigate communications and reputational risk, including sensitive or high-profile matters
  • Lead the development of integrated communications approaches across internal, external and digital channels
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, kaimahi and external stakeholders as a go-to communications advisor
  • Strengthen engagement, consistency and capability across organisational communications

 

Mōu | About you

We are looking for someone who has the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field, with 7+ years’ experience in senior communications, PR, marketing or journalism roles
  • Proven experience advising executive or senior leadership teams with confidence, courage and sound judgement
  • Strong capability in managing sensitive, high-risk or complex communications in fast-paced environments
  • A strategic thinker with excellent writing, storytelling and channel-planning skills
  • High emotional intelligence, professionalism and the ability to operate autonomously with discretion and integrity
  • A demonstrated commitment to te ao Māori, including tikanga, Te Kaupapa Matua, and growing the use and understanding of te reo Māori

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
