Mō tēnei mahi (About this job)

The Specialist Procurement supports our success as an educator by using a value-for-money approach, being innovative, influencing decisions and delivering robust, timely outcomes.  The Specialist Procurement manages end-to end tendering processes and provides advice and guidance on purchasing and tendering procedures, while implementing solutions to improve efficiency and reduce cost.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Provision of procurement/contractual/commercial advice
  • Procurement and category planning and analysis
  • Tender development and process management
  • Contract drafting, negotiation and maintenance.
  • Supporting Takiwā and Uepū with supplier performance management and contract reviews
  • Contract variations
  • Process/contract model improvements

This role works cross-functionally with a range of internal stakeholders and is a key part of the Procurement team whose relationships internally and with suppliers are strong. 

Mōu (About you)

  • 7+ years procurement experience, running end-to-end tender processes (public sector procurement experience would be ideal).
  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement, supply chain, or business
  • Contract management experience.
  • Broad knowledge of procurement concepts, methodologies, and commercial practices.
  • Sound communication, organisation, prioritisation and workload management skills.
  • Proven ability to build lasting, credible relationships with others.
