With a focus on making a lasting impact on Māori education, your role as Strategic Analyst will be to support our Ako Excellence team in driving strategic planning, data analysis, and regulatory compliance. This pivotal role ensures our education delivery aligns with our values and strategic objectives, contributing to the advancement of mātauranga Māori and indigenous knowledge globally.  Day-to-day, you will:

  • Lead strategic planning and business development initiatives for Ako.
  • Provide operational support through enrolment planning, financial analysis, contract management and academic performance monitoring for a range of programmes.
  • Contribute to insightful research, scenario planning, and forecasting to anticipate future opportunities.
  • Collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders to uphold the mana and reputation of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.


Mōu | About you

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Policy, Data Analytics, Education, or related field (Postgraduate qualification advantageous).
  • 3+ years’ experience in an analyst role within a large organisation and 2+ years in strategic research and financial analysis.
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite skills, strong data interpretation, and excellent communication abilities.

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
