We are looking for a Team Lead to implement an exciting new contract to connect 15-24 year olds not in employment, education or training (NEET), particularly rangatahi Māori, and local job seekers to local jobs, in the Building & Construction and Primary Industries.

About the role:

The primary purpose of the Team Lead – Vocations is to provide effective project management to ensure the successful delivery of contract requirements.  This includes managing operational outputs, increasing performance of kaimahi, and designing and implementing improved business processes in alignment with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa values. 

The key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Implementing effective team action plans that identify and set targets for contract deliverables on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Leading the delivery of a safe service, influencing and facilitating change within the team, community and service area
  • Monitoring and reporting on outcomes of contract deliverables
  • Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with relevant external stakeholders (e.g. iwi, local councils, central government agencies, youth, whānau, and service providers) to maximise collaborative efforts to enhance skills and employment services in the rohe
  • Monitoring that the business function remains productive, efficient and effective at all times

About you:

  • You have a Degree in Management, Education or Community Development or related field with extensive experience in the delivery of vocational services to rangatahi, whanau, hapū and iwi
  • You have proven experience in project management and planning and co-ordinating service delivery to a diverse client group
  • You excel at establishing and maintaining strong and meaningful strategic relationships with key stakeholders
  • You have a good understanding of āhuatanga Māori and an understanding of basic te reo Māori
  • You have a full NZ Drivers Licence
