User Experience Subject Matter Expert (UX SME)


About this role

The primary purpose of the User Experience Subject Matter Expert (UX SME) is to define and shape the functionality of interactive interfaces across Te Wānanga o Aotearoa applications, supporting the full tauira (student) journey. In collaboration with vendors and the marketingdesign and technology teams, this role focuses on enhancing application usability to ensure end users can achieve their goals efficiently and enjoy a seamless, positive experience.

As an UX SME, you will:

  • Develop and implement an omnichannel, tauira centric experience and engagement strategy;
  • Develop and deliver personalised content and experience architecture based on tauira needs;
  • Provide guidance on the use of branding, brand guidelines, tikanga application (i.e. usage of tohu) as a brand champion for Whakatairanga;
  • Collaborate and guide Whakatairanga on UI (user interface) and UX design; and
  • Monitorresearch and report on user feedback analytics.

 

About you: 

We are looking for someone who has the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Industrial Design or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems related management, UX design, or related field.
  • 5+ years tertiary industry experience working within interactive design mediums including websites and mobile applications.
  • Excellent experience with software and designing web and mobile solutions for enterprise platforms.
  • Full NZ Drivers Licence.

 

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is required.
