With a focus on making a lasting impact on Māori education, your role as Specialist Ako Transition will be to support our Ako Excellence leadership team in the successful transition of key changes to meet Ako Excellence outcomes. This pivotal role ensures our education delivery aligns with our values and strategic objectives, contributing to the advancement of mātauranga Māori and indigenous knowledge globally.  Day-to-day, you will:

  • Lead strategic planning and operational change analysis
  • Provide advanced level expertise in use of digital tools, and technologies to streamline workflow, communicate and implement change
  • Support transition and accountability by providing high quality reports, presentations and procedure documents
  • Collaborate with Ako leadership teams and internal stakeholders to uphold the mana and reputation of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.


Mōu | About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Organisational Development, Business, HR, Education, or Public Policy.
  • 2+ years’ experience in change management or project management role within large organisation
  • Expertise in digital tools and technologies to support organisational change and reporting requirements
  • Experience in kaupapa Māori and/or tertiary education environments
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite skills, strong data interpretation, and excellent communication abilities.

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
