As Specialist – Cultural and Leadership Development, you’ll support the growth of kaimahi and leaders across Te Wānanga o Aotearoa through engaging learning experiences, coaching, workshops and development initiatives.
You’ll facilitate leadership, management, cultural capability and kaimahi development programmes, adapting your approach to meet the needs of different audiences and learning styles. You’ll also contribute to the development of learning resources and initiatives that strengthen leadership practice, cultural confidence and organisational capability.
A key part of the role is supporting the application of Te Kaupapa Matua, Te Reo Māori, Tikanga Māori, Āhuatanga Māori and Ngā Uara within workplace practices. You’ll work alongside leaders and kaimahi to build confidence, capability and culturally responsive leadership across the organisation.
You’ll also build strong relationships with kaimahi, leaders, iwi, hapū and external partners, working collaboratively to identify opportunities to strengthen capability and support our collective aspirations.
Mōu | About you
You’ll be an experienced facilitator who understands how adults learn and how to create engaging learning experiences that lead to meaningful development and change.
You’ll bring experience facilitating workshops, training or learning programmes, along with experience supporting leadership, cultural capability or workforce development initiatives. You’ll be confident coaching and supporting leaders and kaimahi, and able to adapt your approach to different audiences, group sizes and learning needs.
You’ll have experience working within a kaupapa Māori environment or with Māori communities, with a demonstrated understanding of Te Kaupapa Matua and the application of kaupapa Māori approaches within an organisational setting.
Most importantly, you’ll bring an authentic and relationship-focused approach. You’ll be able to create culturally safe and inclusive learning environments, encourage continuous learning and growth, and build trust through mana-enhancing relationships.
